As if living through a global pandemic and with social distress is not enough, we all face our everyday challenges. Maybe you have a medical condition, the loss of a love one, financial challenges, or some other difficulty. The combination of these stressors can be overwhelming.

This morning I received an unwelcome phone call but then had breakfast with two dear friends. Then I had an argument with my husband but then I received a gift in the mail from one of my high school forever friends. My entire day has taken me up and down the emotional roller coaster.

The real point to sharing my story though, is that I did not let the upsetting stressors keep me from embracing the good things that happened. Many times we choose to stay focused and feel stuck in the challenge we are facing. When we do that we often miss the positives that are around us. I’m not suggesting you ignore and difficulty or challenge in your life, I’m merely suggesting you allow yourself to stay present with whatever is in front of you. And that may feel like an emotional roller coaster!

In all reality, that is what life is like… a roller coaster that ebbs and flows. We need to adapt and adjust. When we feel stuck, we need to seek help to get out of our own way! Productive, healthy life is about being present and facing the challenges and the joys that are put before us!
