The last three days I have been with other women at the Lakeside Women’s Business Conference. Thanks to organizer, Robin Walker, I had the opportunity to hear and speak with industry leaders from across the country. While the “purpose” for attending was to learn how to grow my business, the real “treasure” of the conference is meeting amazing women. (You can find more information about this yearly workshop at https://www.womensbusinessworkshop.com/).
As a licensed counselor, I know how to help people make changes in their life. As a business owner, I am clueless about technology, sales, marketing. While I felt overwhelmed with those aspects of my business, I found other women who could master these skills. Together we can support each other and together we all succeed.
While I am not saying there are not very prolific men in their fields, there is something very powerful about a group of women helping each other. Let’s face it, not so many years ago, women were not even a part of the workforce. There are still issues in equality in pay, breaking through male dominated barriers, and positions where women are not given the same privileges. So when women can help each other, support each other, teach each other and encourage each other, well that is something to celebrate.
We don’t have to go to a conference to do that. There are women all around up whom we can support and encourage. Be a mentor. Be a buyer. Be a leader. This applies to men as well. Let gender drift away.
May your path find you supporting the women whom you encounter!
