It’s the weekend – you enter into the traffic, you search around and around for a parking space, you walk into the very crowded mall and you search for those perfect gifts and spend money that will set you into a heart attach when the bills come in January! Sound familiar? Well, ’tis the season!
Are you the smiling shopper, embracing the Christmas season or the grumpy Grinch waiting for this month to be over? Many start out embracing the season but get bombarded with so much stress from the shopping, baking cookies, decorating and events that they end up going through this season in a glazed over trance!
While I too am impacted by this busy season, I try to end each night with a little calm. I sit in a room with the only light coming for the sparkling lights off our Christmas tree. The ornaments tell a story of my life, as well as my husband and children. I remember that the real reason we rush around crazy for weeks is to celebrate with our family on one special day. That day is filled with joy, hope, and love. And it is all worth it!
The good news though is that we do not have to find stress with every step. The best thing you can do is stay in the moment and be present. Take deep breaths to clear you mind.
