My home office is almost always best described as organized chaos.  I also find myself most productive when I have multiple projects, responsibilities and/or deadlines.  Upon reflection, neither of those statements are in my best interest or show signs of being mentally at ease!  (FYI I am scheduled with a professional organizer to help with the home office!)

Above my work-space at home is a sign that has one word on it:  SIMPLIFY.  I bought the sign not because of the word but the cute owl on it.  I happened to look up last week though and it felt like that one mere word resonated throughout my entire body and mind.  I thought, “Yes, that’s it, I need to simplify.”

We live in a fast paced, immediate response society.  The result has left us being able to cram more into our lives.  Convenience comes at a price though.   Our minds rarely have “down time.”  We are always rushing here and there and the”stop and smell the roses” concept is lost!

So encouraging you to simplify does not necessarily mean going through your closet and get rid of all those clothes you haven’t worn in five years (of course that might be what you need to do) but rather taking a look at your life to see where is your energy spent.  Is that time spent gaining value in your life?  Or do you need to let go of some things that weight you down emotionally and mentally?  In other words, simplify.

May you simplify your life so you can live more!
