With any given situation, you can find positives and negatives.  When asked if a cup is half full or half empty (doesn’t really matter, you can fill the cup!), your frame of mind determines what you see.  And what you see then determines your response.  You can get into a vicious circle of seeing only negatives around you or choose to seek the positives.

When someone feels “stuck” in an unpleasant or painful situation, they often can not see the positive within their circumstances.  When I am in such a situation, I ask myself, “What can I learn from this?”  Sure, the situation may be painful, but is there a lesson to learn?  How can I avoid it in the future?  How can I use the situation to improve myself in the future?  Whether your crisis involves a person, place, or thing, there is likely a lesson to move you forward with insight-this is your positive.  Use that to propel you forward.

Life hands us many challenges and opportunities, often beyond our control.  How we respond is on us.  So while the challenge may be painful, seek the opportunity to us your circumstances for the positive.  Your mindful focus on the positive will lighten your burden.  Seek the positive!

While you journey along your path, stop and smell the flowers, but also see the rock blocking your path and how it can be used to your positive advantage!
