I had the pleasure of speaking on the radio show –  Two Bald Guys and a Microphone (Tim Stewart and Kent Jones).  The topic was Rising from the Ashes.  While there was shameless promotions for my book My Journey to Hell, A Story of Love, Loss & Hope, it was an opportunity to explore how people who are in the midst of tragedy can rise up after having been knocked down.  We discussed all degrees of tragedy from suicide to water main break, from hurricanes to 9/11.

While there is any number of things that can take their tolls on us physically and mentally, we all have a choice to whether to stay down or to get up.  And when we get up, we can carry the burden with us or choose to be stronger.  We can seek the lesson to be learned.  We can seek to find other solutions.  We can seek to dream differently.  But the first step is always to choose to rise up!

Thinking about beginning each new day-you open your eyes, you rise from your bed and then…  Well you can’t erase any struggles or tragedies from past days, but you can decide to start each new day off on the positive.  Acknowledge you have been given this new day to start fresh.  Rise up with the confidence that you are in charge of you.  You get to choose how you react to each new situation in front of you.  You may have laid down after an overwhelming day for a night’s rest, but your can rise fresh, new and ready.  It’s all up to you!

May you rise up each day and throughout each struggle feeling recharged and ready to move forward along your path!
