We all have specific memories from childhood to today that stand out – good and bad. Those moments are what shape our lives and live on forever. Last week I had several “moments” I will never forget!

I was selected as Parade Marshal for my city’s annual parade. That was amazing in and of itself. But to top it off, all three of my children and my two brothers, flew in to celebrate with me. My husband was the mastermind behind this surprise! You see, I have a small family and they live on both coasts with me here in the middle. We don’t have the opportunity to ALL be together often! I was also blessed to have not only my dear friend who has shared my journey in life since we were 5, but newer friends who make the moments in my life precious.

In the midst of the celebrations, one of my dearest friends lost her father. To see this incredibly strong woman cry, broke my heart. Her image will also be etched into my mind. That one little moment.

So often we pass along in our life, just moving out of routine. We don’t allow ourselves to see the faces and really hear the words of those around us. But if we stay present in the moment, we will capture so much more to enrich our lives. Those “moments” will be vivid.

I tried to be present in each moment during last weeks festivities and trials. I can now see them in color and reflect the impact they had on me; the happy and the sad.

May you capture each moment along your path!
