Luck of the Irish?
With this week bringing us St. Patrick’s Day I am sharing several Irish Proverbs, Blessings, Quotes and am reminded of the phrase, “Luck of the Irish.” Do you think the Irish are lucky? More lucky than non-Irish?
I believe we often make our own luck! While I am curious about where that phrase came from, I think good things and bad things happen to people within circumstances we cannot control. Of course we can also consider the things within our control and set a course for bringing about the things we desire. Often luck has nothing to do with the outcome.
Ironically I will find myself in Las Vegas on St. Patrick’s Day this year. While only a short stop while traveling on, we will be going through slot machines at the airport and a casino. Since I am not a gambler, I don’t have to even consider “Lady Luck” but “Luck of the Irish” is something people in Vegas hope for!
When I was younger, I was lucky enough to find several four leaf clovers. I don’t believe they brought me any luck though. So whether or not the Irish are lucky, we can help create our dreams by taking positive action toward our goal. We are then creating our own luck!
May your path be surrounded by four leaf clovers but your “luck” come from the efforts you put forth!
