So I had a little medical situation that landed me in the ER last week.  The nurse asked what my pain level was on a scale between 1-10.  I replied, “It’s all in your perspective.”  Compared to a bruise, well it’s a 10, compared to an arm cut off, it’s a 2.  I told her a 7 but again it’s all in your perspective.

As a result of the diagnosis, I was placed on a limited diet and will forever more have to avoid some foods.  Of course they are some of my favorite foods.  I started feeling sorry for myself.  Then I remembered a friend who is going through cancer and will forever more have to have weekly treatment.  So again, putting my situation in perspective, I had nothing to complain about.

So while we all face challenges which are beyond our control, we do have a choice on how we proceed.  We can wallow in our misery or look to adjust.

May your path allow you to see your life in perspective!
