… where at least I know I’m free. These are the lyrics to Lee Greenwood’s song God Bless the USA. I hate that I need to start out with a disclaimer but under current conditions, I need to say, this is not meant to be political or about social justice, but rather about celebrating the birth of the United States of America. Lee goes on to say :
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land …
Between my father, father in law, and significant others in my children’s lives, we cover the branches of the military. I appreciate their service, past and present. The lyrics above remind me that our country to fought for by brave men and women who wanted a better way of life along with the freedom to determine their destinies. Today’s military continue to serve in protecting these rights and freedoms.
I love fireworks. I love the United States. I love that I get to celebrate each year.
I wish you a day of celebration and joy and pride in the USA!
