Free Yourself From Clutter & Chaos

Have you ever noticed that people who live and work in cluttered spaces seem a little scattered themselves?  I frequently share with clients the link between our physical body and our mental state.  For example, if you break your leg and cannot participate in an activity, it may cause depression.  If you are depressed, you may not eat healthy.   The same applies to our physical space and our mental status.

When we are in a clean home or work space, we tend to feel relaxed.  When we are in a cluttered area, we tend to feel overwhelmed, disorganized, anxious.  On the flip side, if we feel mentally cluttered, with emotions and messages bombarding us, we feel overwhelmed and often lack the energy to attend to the physical area around us.

Clutter has the tenancy to throw us into a state of chaos, both physically and mentally.  It cripples ones ability to work and live.  Because it is overwhelming to consider how to unclutter we become stuck in a state of chaos.  But, there is hope…

Take a deep breath.  Pick one area to focus on and address, whether it be your physical space or your mental status.  Depending on the degree of clutter, you may need to seek assistance from either a professional organizer or professional counselor.  But no matter what, take a moment to just breath and focus on your future.  You do not need to be stuck.

May you free yourself from the mental and physical clutter along your path of life.
