While ’tis the season for holiday cheer, I can’t help but think of those who struggle this time of year.
The “Christmas Spirit” can be found in the heart and in the mind. I usually not only look forward to the celebration of Christmas Day, but in the preparations of decorating, baking, card making, gift wrapping and all the busyness that comes along with it. But this year I just was not “feeling” it. I did a deep and thorough look at my life and realized I needed to let go of something that had me feeling overwhelmed. Once that was done, the Christmas spirit rushed in.
Not everyone though is able to just open themselves to the holiday cheer and Christmas spirit. Those who are struggling mentally and/or physically may find it hard to celebrate. If you know someone who is grieving, has physical pain, etc, please acknowledge their struggle. These are the very souls that Christ came to comfort! Offer them your love and support. It will help them and in return you will find the “gift” of giving.
I wish you a joyful Christmas filled with family and friends and love!
May you find those who need your “gifts” along your path!
