For the past several years, I have committed to a “Word of the Year.” Past words were Believe, Hope, Journey, and Joy. These words helped guide my focus for the year. They gave me both comfort and direction. I will also tell you the words applied to my personal, profession, and spiritual life. This year I have chosen Seek. Seek what you ask? Well that is a little open-ended.
Personally, I want to focus on seeking to be a better person. I want to be there for friends, be an example to others, offer hope when needed, and so on. Professionally, I seek to learn new strategies to promote and propel my business to the next level. Spiritually, I am reminded of Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be given to you.” So basically. I am seeking the priorities my my life.
What you seek may be completely different than me, but I will challenge you to seek out what serves you best in all areas of your life. By focusing on those things, you will have a clearer path to achieving your goals for the year.
While I encourage you to find a word that will resignate with you for this year, I also ask you to seek and surround yourself with people, places and things that keep you in the direction you want to head.
May your path allow you to seek the things that will uplift you, guide you and allow you to succeed!
