Have you ever looked into the eyes of a child as they see what is under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning? Or heard them exclaim their wonder at a magic trick? Their belief and innocence is something to cherish!
So many times the little ones will say things adults would never say out loud but is often on our minds. They have no filters. Sometimes their words are just so funny and other times a little too truthful!
I get so much joy out of the hope, expectations, beliefs in the eyes of a child. Their view of life is unfiltered by the harshness of life.
While some filtering is a good thing, life would be so much happier if we all saw the good and did not focus on the negatives of life. Child are in awe and find amazement. This assume the positive. We get a little jaded as we grow and are suspect.
The comparisons could go on but the bottom line is this challenge: This month as we prepare our homes, wrap the gifts, decorate the tree, go shopping, are baking, and so on, try to see the joy of this season as if through the eye of an innocent child. I’d love to hear back from you on how this changed your Christmas season.
Take some time to just enjoy your Christmas tree. Enjoy the Christmas cookies. Approach it all with the innocence of a child who sees the magic in the season!
May your path allow you to be a little innocent this Christmas season!
