A moment. Just one moment can make all the difference.
One moment you are unemployed the next your are hired. One moment you are single, the next you are in a relationship. One moment you are happy, the next you are disappointed. The list is endless on the possible changes that can happen in a moment.
Sometimes if we take a moment to evaluate, we realize that words spoken in passion, would be filtered if we only took a moment to reflect. Sometimes our actions, would be less severe if we took a moment to consider consequences.
And sometimes, we just need to be in the moment and absorb all that is around us. The phrase “stop and smell the roses” comes to mind. We might see the roses and intuitively know they smell wonderful, but with a busy life we pass by without enjoying the beauty and the fragrance. So often our mind directs toward past struggles or anxiety about an upcoming situation, that we forget we are in present moment. The distraction of past and future eliminates the opportunities of the present moment; a missed smile, a word of encouragement, or even a solution to a future struggle.
So as you go about your week, take some time to be IN the moment. Take some time to think before you speak or act. Be present for what is happening AROUND you and WITHIN you. And TAKE the opportunity to make the most of each moment.
May your path offer you the best of moments!
