Education:
Geri began her education at Bradley University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Political Science and with a minor in Psychology. After working for the Illinois House and Senate staffs for years, she decided to pursue a new career in counseling. She attended Northern Illinois University, achieving a Master of Science degree in Applied Family and Child studies with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She graduated in 1991 Magna Cum Laude. She was awarded membership into Kappa Omicron Nu, an honor society based on distinction conferred by a university upon a student for eminence in scholarship; credit or reputation that is becoming or worthy; high-minded character or principles sense of one’s obligations.
Licensure:
After successfully completing the required supervision and testing, Geri achieved the honor of becoming a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in 1993.
Community Service:
Geri has been involved in the McHenry area for over 20 years. She continues to serve her community in both elected and voluntary positions. As Alderwoman, she chairs the Community Development Committee. She is active in the McHenry Area CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition which supports the principals of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. She is also active in her church and is a bible study facilitator.
